Adult Jiu Jitsu Basics
Our Jiu Jitsu Basics program is specifically designed with two things in min; the complete beginner in martial arts and the student looking for effective and efficient self-defense. We have taken the complex system of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and broken it down into easy to learn lessons. These lessons follow a strict curriculum that helps you progress easily and smoothly. Starting with basic positions and concepts then working toward the self-defense scenarios you are most likely to face in the real world. This class is easy, fun, and informative for the brand-new student and a great course for refreshing the seasoned Jiu Jitsu practitioner as well.
Adult All Levels Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
The best place for you to advance your learning and take your skills to the next level is our All Levels Jiu Jitsu program here at Reflex Jiu Jitsu. After learning the foundations in our basics program, you will have the opportunity to attend some of our all levels classes. These classes are designed to advance both your conceptual and physical proficiency in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Open to students of virtually all levels, this is where you will be introduced to sparring and active training. We focus on the finer details in the techniques of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and also introduce you to the world of Jiu Jitsu as a sport. This class is used in conjunction of our basics program to give you the skills needed to acquire the level of blue belt and beyond.
Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Much like the adult Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program, our kids Jiu Jitsu classes are designed to provide your child with all of the skills needed to successfully handle altercations that may put them in danger or feel uncomfortable. We understand the importance of teaching our kids not only how to defend themselves but also how to conduct themselves in any situation. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for our children is much more than a self defense program. It is a general life and growth program teaching our youth the importance of discipline, respect, and confidence. We know that confidence in your kids produces confidence in you as a parent.
The kickboxing program here at Reflex is Fun! In fact it is so fun that you may quickly forget that you are learning how to kick butt. These classes are kickboxing classes that are self defense oriented with a fitness edge. During your class you are going to learn all of the aspects of Kickboxing from basic jabs and defenses to hard hitting kicks and evasions. But during this class you will also move and sweat. The best thing about the kickboxing program is our special ranking system. This ranking system has been put into effect so you can easily see your progress, first hand, every time an instructor awards you with a rank advancement.
This program teaches how to neutralize and defend common attacks specifically against women. Self-defense helps women protect themselves and their family, builds confidence, and strengthens self-worth. While men are touted as the stronger sex, Jiu Jitsu is a small man’s sport. Meaning, even though, on average women are smaller and not as strong, this discipline helps women use their opponent’s mechanics against them, such as their height, weight, and even strength.
Kid’s Open Mat (Ages 7+)
This is unstructured mat time that is geared towards children that have interest in taking their Jiu Jitsu to the next level with competition and situational training. During this time, we will be exploring more in depth fundamental and advanced techniques.
Adult Open Mat
Taking advantage of the opportunity to get extra training in is always a good idea. This is why we always have open mat time on our schedule. We currently have two open mat times per week. One on Wednesday night and one on Saturday mornings. This time can be used to practice both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing. We also recommend you use this time to ask questions about specific techniques, philosophies, and concepts that pertain to your training. The main purpose of this class is to get lots of sparring and live training time in. It is highly recommended that any student looking to advance their Jiu Jitsu very quickly, attend these special open mat sessions. Open mat has the tendency to become very physically demanding so it is always smart to consult with your coaches before attending.
