Fitness through a combat sport like kickboxing
The art of Kickboxing and boxing have become synonymous with fitness. This is for good reason, as the fitness and cardio routines of amateur and professional fighters is top notch. When these guys prepare for a fight they need to be sure they can endure an entire match, because of this, intense cardio is a must.
We are blurring the lines
Our specific program here at Reflex is definitely self-defense based. This means that our students are training to become proficient in the techniques used in combative situations. Although we do not focus specifically on the cardio side of kickboxing, we have included some fast-paced drills and movements that are sure to get our students moving and sweating. In doing this we are able to provide the best of both worlds when it comes to learning how to strike.
What can you expect in a typical class?
All of our classes follow an easy and progressive curriculum. This allows students of all experience levels to attend. From the complete beginner, all the way up to an experienced practitioner. Most of our classes follow this basic lesson structure:
- A short pre-training warm up
- A few drills to get the blood flowing
- Technical lessons
- Drilling of the technical lessons
- Proactive movement training
- A relaxing cool down stretch session
